I needed to switch doctors anyway. I kept telling him my neck was in severe pain and he consistently ignored me. I begged him to take x-rays and he refused, saying it was probably just arthritis pain or my old age. He told me to go to the emergency room and see the Dr. on call. He called the ER Dr. and told him I was a hypochondriac. The E.R. Dr. told me what DR. Giesel said to him. After the ER Dr. examined me and heard my symptoms, he immediately ordered x-rays and a Cat Scan, which revealed that I had many large bone spurs in my neck that were crushing into my spine and nerves, which were causing my pain and many different severe symptoms, such as severe headaches, stinging and numbness in my arms, legs, hands and feet. Bladder problems, Heart arrythmias. The cat scan also indicated I had ruptures of C5 and C 6 discs in my neck. The ER Dr. couldn't believe how Dr. Giessel had dissed me, and all of these obvious symptoms.
Really good doctor I have been a patient almost 4 years now and Dr. Giessel has addressed my health concerns and he also has sent me for different test and referred me to other doctor's to address other health issues. When I was not able to make it to my appointment I was given an option of rescheduling it then or when I was able to. And as far as the lady who commented before me. I almost died back in 2011 because being misdiagnosed Feb 14 uti, Feb 15 uri Feb 17 walk in ER boubled over and NO staff or doctors came out when it was adressed to them and finally they got some act right and ordered test and to find out my appendix had ruptured and was so badly inflamed that if I would of waited I would of died at home. Was in ICU because of that. But back to the Dr. A really good one.
I also have complained to Dr. Giessel many times that my blood pressure was extremely high and he ignored me and said my BP was not high. I told him that I had to go to the ER for high blood pressure several times, recently it was 180/105 which is critical and can cause an anheurism of the brain or stroke or heart attack.
The ER Doc referred me to a Neurosurgeon at a Spinal Surgery Hospital, where I have undergone 1 surgery so far, and will have to have another surgery soon to replace the discs with plastic discs.
After years as his patient , and me steadily getting sicker each year, under his care, he sent me a certified letter, firing me as his patient, because I missed an appointment. All he is interested in is making that dollar and running patients through like cattle.
Then he fires me for missing an appointment. Thank you Dr. Giessel for finally realizing that you are incompetant. I can no longer trust mine or my daughters well being to him. All I can say is "Patient Beware".
I would like to give thanks to the Navarro County Medical Center Emergency Room for having such fine Doctors on staff. They truly saved my life.
It is sad when you have to turn to the Emergency Room for proper care.
When Dr. Giessel first arrived in Corsicana, he seemed great, but now, he is very disappointing as a Physician, and nearly cost me my life.
