I only gave them 1 star because I can't give them 0. I called 6/23/16 because my parents found a dog chasing their cattle, they did the humane thing and got the dog fed him gave him water and were wanting to take him to the shelter. When I called I spoke with Ashley she was very nice at first, further into out conversation she informed me my parents would have to pay to give the dog up to the shelter since they lived in Richland not Corsicana. I explained my parents did not have 25 to give at the moment they were just trying to do something humane and save a dogs life.( My parents went all around to neighbor ranches and people told them that they had never seen that dog that a lot of people just abounded animals since it's mostly highways.) Ashley informed me that the fee is not something they "waive". If that's something I was looking for I would have to call the city. I asked for the number and once I called I soon realized she gave me the number for the police department. I pleaded my case to them and they told me to call the actual city they gave me the number and I called them hoping they could help. When I reached them they said that is not something they do, that would have to be the animal shelter I explained the animal shelter had said to call them. The lady I spoke with seemed really confused and kept telling me to call the animal shelter, she had that not my problem attitude, she didn't really care what happened to the poor animal. She told us to let him go if that's what we wanted! HONESTLY IT WAS A MESS NO ONE KNEW WHAT THEY WERE DOING, or even cared.

The animal shelter/city obviously dont care about what happens to animals. I have volunteered at animal shelters and have never been around people who have that don't care attitude. They have no other options on what to do besides just let him go! That's insane that a place that's supposed to help animals and they dont care if an animal is realesed and gets hit by a car or dies because of weather conditions. I'm very disappointed in how they treat situations and really don't care what happens because they are not receiving there fee!! It's situations like this that make people not want to do good actions because instead of helping, we are being fined! Very disappointing...
We were very impressed with how helpful and well informed the people at this facility were. The kennels were clean and animals had comfortable bedding and food and water. We found just the dog we wanted and I would advise others to check this shelter before looking anywhere else. Conditions at other places we checked did not compare favorably to this one.
